X2: X-Men United is a superhero film released in 2003, directed by Bryan Singer and based on the Marvel Comics series X-Men. The movie is a sequel to the 2000 film X-Men and features a star-studded cast including Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, and James Marsden. The story takes place a few years after the events of the previous movie. The X-Men, a team of mutants who have special abilities, are still fighting for their rights in a world that hates and fears them. The mutants are divided into two groups: the X-Men, who believe in peaceful coexistence with humans, and the Brotherhood, led by Magneto (Ian McKellen), who believes in mutant superiority over humans.

The movie opens with a dramatic scene where Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), a mutant with the ability to teleport, attacks the US President in the Oval Office. The incident creates a lot of tension between mutants and humans and the X-Men are blamed for the attack. In order to clear their name, Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) sends Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) on a mission to find out who was really responsible for the attack.

At the same time, William Stryker (Brian Cox), a military scientist who hates mutants and blames them for the death of his son, has launched an attack on Xavier's school for mutants. The X-Men are forced to flee and split up into different groups in order to survive. Wolverine teams up with Rogue (Anna Paquin), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), and Pyro (Aaron Stanford) to escape, while Storm (Halle Berry) leads the remaining X-Men to safety.

The rest of the movie follows the X-Men as they try to uncover Stryker's plans and stop him from carrying out his evil mission. They must confront several dangerous mutants including Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu), a skilled fighter with Adamantium claws similar to Wolverine's, and Yuriko Oyama (Kea Wong) – a mind-controlled mutant who is Stryker's personal assistant.

The movie also explores several personal relationships among the characters. Wolverine starts to remember his past and his connection to Stryker while forming a friendship with Iceman. Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) struggles with her increasing psychic powers and her feelings for Cyclops (James Marsden). Storm must take charge of the group while Xavier is captured by Stryker.

X2: X-Men United is an action-packed movie with stunning special effects, intense fight scenes, and a great storyline. It also delves deeper into the characters' personalities and relationships, making the audience care more about them. The movie raises some important questions about discrimination, prejudice, and the fear of the unknown – themes that are still relevant today.

Overall, X2: X-Men United is a fantastic movie that delivers on all fronts. It has a great cast, a gripping plot, and plenty of spectacle to keep fans of the genre entertained. It is widely considered to be one of the best superhero movies of all time, and for good reason. If you're a fan of action, sci-fi, or superheroes in general, this movie is definitely worth a watch.

X2: X-Men United is a 2003 adventure movie with a runtime of 2 hours and 13 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.4 and a MetaScore of 68.
