Wrong Turn 5 is a 2012 horror movie directed by Declan O'Brien and is the fifth installment in the Wrong Turn franchise. Fans of the previous movies will be pleased to know that Doug Bradley makes a return to the series, known for his role as Pinhead in the Hellraiser franchise. He is joined by a talented cast that includes Camilla Arfwedson, Simon Ginty, Roxanne McKee, Paul Luebke, Oliver Hoare, and Kyle Redmond Jones.

The movie takes place in the fictional town of Fairlake, which is hosting its annual Mountain Man Festival, a celebration that marks the anniversary of the town's discovery by a group of hunters. The festival attracts tourists and locals alike, and the town is bustling with activity. However, things take a dark turn when a group of friends arrive in town looking for sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

The group of friends, led by Billy (Simon Ginty) and his girlfriend, Cruz (Amy Lennox), quickly become the talk of the town, and not in a good way. They get into a run-in with the festival's host, the eccentric and violent Maynard (Doug Bradley), who warns them to stay away from the festival. When the group refuses to back down, Maynard and his cohorts, Three Finger (Borislav Iliev), Saw Tooth (George Karlukovski), and One Eye (Radoslav Parvanov), decide to take matters into their own hands.

What follows is a gruesome and terrifying game of cat-and-mouse, as the group of friends try to survive the night and make it out of Fairlake alive. The town itself becomes a character in the movie, with its winding streets, dark alleys, and ominous fog creating a sense of foreboding.

The acting in the movie is solid, with each actor bringing their own unique personality to their role. Simon Ginty does an excellent job as Billy, the reckless and impulsive leader of the group of friends. He is a compelling character, and the audience can't help but root for him, even as he makes one bad decision after another. Camilla Arfwedson also shines as Sheriff Angela, a tough-as-nails law enforcement officer who is determined to protect the town from the festival's rowdy visitors. Her character is a refreshing departure from the damsel in distress trope that is so prevalent in horror movies.

The special effects in the movie are top-notch, with the violence and gore being some of the most gruesome and realistic seen in the franchise. The practical effects, in particular, are impressive, with the makeup and prosthetics used to create the mutations and deformities of the cannibalistic trio being both disgusting and fascinating.

One of the strengths of the movie is its pacing. The movie moves at a brisk pace, with the action and suspense never letting up. The tension is palpable, and the sense of danger is always present. The plot is straightforward, but that's part of the movie's charm. It doesn't try to be anything other than a straightforward horror movie, and it succeeds because of it.

Overall, Wrong Turn 5 is a solid entry in the franchise, one that fans of the previous movies will enjoy. It's gruesome, terrifying, and never lets up in its intensity. The characters are well-written, the acting is strong, and the special effects are excellent. If you're looking for a horror movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Wrong Turn 5 is definitely worth checking out.
