Set in a wonderfully atmospheric Chelsea apartment block, "Whitelands" is a tender, funny and insightful look at what happens when two people initially at odds with each other and separated by age and background come to an unexpected mutual acceptance. Connor (Andrew Buchan), a Glaswegian in his late 20s, is brought to his girlfriend (Romola Garai) Jen's great aunt's house for tea. He faces off against the formidable Val (Valerie Hulton), a sparkling 95-year old with a flinty exterior and sharp wit.
