In the movie White Reindeer, Suzanne Barrington (played by Anna Margaret Hollyman) is a real estate agent living a seemingly happy suburban life in Virginia with her husband, Jeff (played by Nathan Williams). However, her life is turned upside down when Jeff is tragically killed in a robbery at a convenience store during the holiday season.

Grief-stricken and lost, Suzanne navigates her way through the holiday season alone. She becomes disillusioned with the suburban lifestyle she once cherished and starts to question the meaning of her life. She finds solace in her job, where she helps others find their dream homes.

One of Suzanne's clients is a stripper named Fantasia (played by Laura Lemar-Goldsborough). At first, the two women have nothing in common, but they soon form an unlikely friendship. Fantasia introduces Suzanne to a world she has never known, and Suzanne finds herself drawn to the excitement of it all. She starts to live vivaciously, embracing her new-found freedom and straying from her former, rigidly structured life.

Suzanne also begins to develop feelings for Jeff's best friend, Mike (played by Chris Doubek). She is initially apprehensive about these feelings, but she eventually lets go of her inhibitions and engages in an affair with him.

As the holidays approach, Suzanne is finally beginning to confront her grief and move on from Jeff's death. However, a shocking revelation threatens to derail her progress and send her reeling. Suzanne must confront her past and come to terms with the unexpected turns her life has taken.

White Reindeer is a poignant and introspective movie about the complexities of grief, love, and identity. Anna Margaret Hollyman delivers a powerful performance as Suzanne, conveying the character's inner turmoil and growth with subtlety and nuance. Kim Park and Nathan Williams give strong supporting performances as Fantasia and Jeff, respectively, adding depth and complexity to the story.

The movie also excels in its depiction of the holiday season. While many holiday movies focus on the sentimental aspects of the season, White Reindeer takes a more complicated and realistic approach. The movie explores the loneliness and emptiness that can accompany the holidays, as well as the moments of joy and connection that can emerge from unexpected places.

Director and writer Zach Clark imbues the movie with a melancholy yet hopeful tone, allowing the story to unfold at a measured pace while still maintaining the audience's interest. The cinematography is also noteworthy, with gorgeous shots of Virginia's snowy landscapes and intimate close-ups of the characters.

Overall, White Reindeer is a compelling and engaging movie that is sure to resonate with anyone who has experienced loss or struggled to find meaning in their life. It is a smart and honest portrayal of grief and redemption that avoids cliches and sentimentality. Highly recommended.
