Watch Whistling Smith

This Canadian documentary examines the daily life of a police officer named Bernie Whistling Smith. As a police sergeant, Bernie walks a beat on the Eastside of Vancouver, where he encounters a wide array of colorful characters, including those down on their luck, the homeless, and assorted petty criminals. Everyone seems to know Bernie in this depressed corner of Vancouver where he strives to maintain law and order. But the police officer nicknamed Whistler is much more than a symbol of authority to those under his watch. He is also a big brother, a counselor and a trusted friend.
