What If, (originally titled The F Word), is a romantic comedy film that explores the classic dilemma of "What if we could be more than just friends?" It stars Daniel Radcliffe as Wallace, a med school dropout who hasn't quite figured out his life yet, and Zoe Kazan as Chantry, an animator with a boyfriend who seems perfect on paper. The two meet at a party and quickly hit it off, but when Chantry reveals she has a boyfriend, Wallace reluctantly agrees to be just friends.

As they spend more time together, Wallace and Chantry's chemistry becomes undeniable. They enjoy each other's company so much that they spend every moment they can together. But they both try to suppress their growing feelings and convince themselves that they can maintain the status quo of being just friends. Chantry is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, Ben (Rafe Spall) and doesn't want to ruin things with him. Wallace, on the other hand, is afraid of getting hurt and losing the friendship he holds so dear.

Their journey is whimsical, humorous, and heartwarming. They share some of the most outrageous, hilarious, and thought-provoking conversations, which reveal their compatibility, intelligence, and mutual appreciation. They bond over their shared love of old movies and discover that they have so much in common. They go on spontaneous adventures together, including a trip to a Lightsaber battle, and even end up getting arrested.

Despite their friendship, Chantry and Wallace both struggle with their feelings for each other. Wallace's confidant, Allan (Adam Driver), advises him to pursue Chantry, telling him that their attraction to each other is obvious. On the other hand, Chantry's sister, Dalia (Megan Park), warns her to be careful not to hurt Ben and lose what she has with him.

As their feelings for each other intensify, they begin to face the difficult decisions of their lives. Will they risk their friendship and take a chance on love? Or will they remain just friends and never know what could have been?

The film takes place in Toronto, and director Michael Dowse captures the city's beauty and charm, showcasing its vibrant neighborhoods and diverse population. It also features an enchanting indie soundtrack with songs from Ingrid Michaelson, The Generationals, and A.C. Newman.

What If is a refreshing take on the romantic comedy genre. It avoids many of the clichés and tropes that often fill such movies, and instead captures the awkwardness, humor, and confusion that come with falling for someone unexpectedly. It is a movie about the complexities of relationships, and the power of friendship to overcome them.

Overall, What If is a charming, funny, and poignant film that will leave audiences feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Radcliffe and Kazan have excellent on-screen chemistry and deliver witty, heartwarming performances. It is a must-see for anyone who loves a good romantic comedy, or simply wants to be entertained by two of our generation's most talented young actors.

What If is a 2013 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.8 and a MetaScore of 59.
