"Wendy" is a 2020 film directed by Benh Zeitin about a young girl who ventures into a magical and dangerous world called Neverland. The film stars Devin France as Wendy, Yashua Mack as Peter Pan, and Gage Naquin as Douglas. The film follows Wendy as she grows up in a small town, dreaming of adventure and bigger things. She lives with her mother, who runs a small diner on the outskirts of town, and her twin brothers. One night, Wendy catches a glimpse of a mysterious boy hopping a train and decides to follow him, quickly finding herself whisked away to a fantastical world she never could have imagined.

In this new world, Wendy discovers that the boy she followed is Peter Pan, the legendary boy who never grows up. She meets a group of lost boys who are fiercely independent and led by Peter, who teaches them to fly and leads them on various adventures. But as Wendy becomes more involved in the world of Neverland, she realizes how dangerous it can be.

The main theme of "Wendy" is the power and danger of imagination. Wendy is a dreamer who wants more out of life than what her small town can offer her. When she is transported to Neverland, she becomes a part of a world where anything is possible, but at a cost. Wendy's imagination leads to incredible adventures but also to near-death experiences.

Another theme is the tension between growing up and staying a child. Wendy and the lost boys have all run away from home to live in Neverland, but as they spend more time there, they start to realize that being a child forever isn't all it's cracked up to be. They begin to miss their families and the comforts of home, but they also don't want to lose the magic and freedom of Neverland.

Visually, the film is stunning. The filmmakers use natural landscapes and creative camera angles to convey the wonder and danger of Neverland. The colors are bold and bright, and the use of shadow and light create a sense of otherworldliness. There are also some incredible (and dangerous) stunts involving actors flying and jumping off cliffs.

Devin France is a revelation as Wendy. She plays the character with such wide-eyed wonder and bravery that it's impossible not to root for her. Yashua Mack is also excellent as Peter Pan, capturing the character's mischievousness and impishness while also hinting at a darker side. The rest of the cast, including the young actors who play the lost boys, also give strong performances.

Overall, "Wendy" is a visually stunning and thematically rich film that explores the power and danger of imagination. The film has some intense moments that may be too much for very young children, but it's a great choice for families with kids eight and up. Other viewers may also find the film engaging, especially those who appreciate unique and creative storytelling.

Wendy is a 2020 fantasy movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 52 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.7 and a MetaScore of 55.
