Weekend at Bernie's is a hilarious movie that was released in 1989. The movie revolves around two young employees in New York, Larry Wilson and Richard Parker, who discover a fraudulent scheme at their insurance company. They excitedly bring their findings to their boss, Bernie Lomax, only to realize that he is the mastermind behind the scheme.

Soon after, Bernie invites Larry and Richard to his luxurious beach house for the weekend, claiming that he needs their help to finalize a deal. The two hopeful employees see this as an opportunity to climb the ranks in the company and accept the invitation. However, when they arrive at the beach house, they discover that Bernie has been murdered by the mob as he has double-crossed them in a business deal.

Panicking, Larry and Richard decide to play along and pretend that Bernie is still alive so that they can save their own lives from the angry mob. What unfolds is a hilarious series of events where the two main characters try to keep Bernie's dead body upright, propped up with sunglasses and a hat, in order to convince others that he is still alive.

As the weekend goes on, they try to pass Bernie off as merely drunk, while trying to avoid suspicion from the mob and Bernie's girlfriend, who is unaware of his death. Their antics are often comical and absurd as they struggle to keep Bernie's corpse from falling apart in order to keep up the pretense that he is still alive.

Larry and Richard's attempts become increasingly desperate, and they even drag Bernie's body out on the dance floor at a party in one scene, causing chaos and hilarity among the other party-goers. The film's climax is both dramatic and hilarious as the two main characters try to outsmart the angry mob and reveal the truth about Bernie's death without getting themselves killed in the process.

Andrew McCarthy, Jonathan Silverman, and Catherine Mary Stewart deliver excellent performances in a movie that is both funny and suspenseful. The chemistry between McCarthy and Silverman is excellent, and their comedic timing is superb, as they try to navigate the awkward and often ridiculous situations they find themselves in.

Overall, Weekend at Bernie's is a classic comedy film that has stood the test of time. It is a movie that anyone can enjoy, with its absurd yet hilarious storyline, lovable characters, and excellent acting. It's a must-watch for anyone who loves a good laugh!

Weekend at Bernie's is a 1989 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 37 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.4 and a MetaScore of 32.
