Weeds is a suspenseful and psychological drama that was directed by John Hancock and released in 1987. In this movie, Nick Nolte stars as Lee Umstetter, a recently paroled criminal who is trying to start a new life for himself. He moves to Seattle and begins working at a lumber yard, where he meets a woman named Rachel (played by Rita Taggart) and her son, Jack (played by Duncan Fraser).

As Lee starts to settle into his new life, he becomes increasingly paranoid and anxious about being caught by the police or his former criminal associates. He starts to see danger everywhere, from a suspicious truck driver following him on the road to Rachel's estranged husband, who he believes is stalking them.

Throughout the movie, Lee's mental state deteriorates as he becomes more and more convinced that he is in danger. He starts to experience flashbacks to his time in prison, and his grasp on reality starts to slip away. Meanwhile, Rachel tries to help him navigate his fears and anxieties, but she begins to question whether he is making everything up or if there is actually something to be afraid of.

In one particularly tense scene, Lee and Rachel are staying in a motel when Lee becomes convinced that they are being watched. He tears apart the room, looking for a hidden camera or a bug, while Rachel tries to calm him down. Eventually, he breaks down and confesses to her that he killed a fellow inmate while he was in prison, and that he is afraid that the victim's family has tracked him down.

The tension builds throughout the movie as Lee's paranoia takes over and Rachel becomes increasingly frightened for her own safety and the safety of her son. Ultimately, the movie reaches a dramatic conclusion that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Weeds is a powerful and unsettling movie that explores the psychological toll of a life of crime and the paranoia that can come from trying to start over. Nick Nolte delivers an intense and compelling performance as a man grappling with his past and his present, and the supporting cast is equally strong. Ernie Hudson also appears in the movie as a detective who is investigating some of the crimes that Lee may have been involved in.

Overall, Weeds is a must-see movie for fans of suspense and psychological dramas. With its gripping storyline and strong performances, it is sure to keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.
