Warrior Queen is an action-adventure film set in the 1st century A.D. in Britain, starring Sybil Danning as the titular character, Queen Bodicia. The film was directed by Chuck Vincent and released in 1987. The movie begins with the arrival of Roman General Fuscus (Donald Pleasence) in Britain, where he is tasked with bringing the native tribes under Roman control. Queen Bodicia, however, refuses to submit to Roman authority, and instead leads her tribe in a rebellion against the invaders.

As the conflict escalates, Bodicia becomes a symbol of resistance for the native tribes, inspiring others to join her cause. With the help of her loyal warrior Hervor (Rick Hill), she leads her army in several battles against the Romans, each more brutal than the last.

Meanwhile, General Fuscus will stop at nothing to defeat Bodicia and crush her rebellion. He employs ruthless tactics such as torture and slavery to break the spirit of the native tribes and force them to submit to Roman rule.

Bodicia, however, is made of sterner stuff. She proves to be an expert strategist and tactician, outmaneuvering Fuscus and his soldiers time and time again. She also demonstrates exceptional fighting skills, wielding a sword and shield with deadly precision.

Throughout the film, there are several intense battle scenes, each one more epic than the last. The action is fast-paced and exciting, with plenty of blood and gore. The film's budget limitations are evident in some of the special effects, but the sheer enthusiasm of the cast and crew more than makes up for it.

The performances are all solid, with Sybil Danning particularly standing out as the fierce and determined Bodicia. She brings a sense of gravitas to the role, commanding the screen even during the quieter moments of the film. Donald Pleasence is also excellent as the villainous General Fuscus, conveying a sense of arrogance and cruelty with ease.

Rick Hill is a capable sidekick to Danning's Bodicia, providing some much-needed comic relief and support during the battles. The rest of the supporting cast is also solid, with several memorable characters among the native tribes and Roman soldiers.

Overall, Warrior Queen is a fun and entertaining film that delivers on its promise of action and adventure. It may not be the most historically accurate portrayal of the conflict between the Romans and the native tribes of Britain, but it makes up for it with its energy and enthusiasm. Fans of sword-and-sandal epics will find plenty to enjoy here.

Warrior Queen is a 1987 fantasy movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 19 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.3.
