Visioneers is a glimpse into the not so distant future involving the lives of individuals working for the Jeffers Corporation. The film is filled with Orwellian imagery and ideas about the future of mankind. Society is trained to believe that dreams, goals, and wild ambitions are not normal thoughts. In the style of magical-realism, people begin to explode when they have thoughts that stray from the status quo of the office work-a-aday world, in which they are taught that happiness can only be achieved through productivity.
To combat these explosions, people are made to wear devices around their necks which prevent them from exploding. When Zach Galifianakis' character, George, begins to suffer from dreams and vivid mental images, he is concerned that he may explode, as others have done before him, and decides it is time for him to leave the Jeffers Corporation in order to pursue some sort of happiness that the Jeffers Corporation cannot provide.
Visioneers is a 2008 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 34 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.9.
