Virgin Theory focuses on the story of a 33 year old woman named Mai-Hee, who spends her days working as an assistant professor in math, while dreaming of having a boyfriend one day. Even though she enjoys her current job, Mal-Hee has been wishing for a boyfriend for quite some time, since she had never had a boyfriend before in her life. She's never even been kissed before. She isn't even sure how to attract a man and get him to like her.

Mal-Hee has her sights on a polite young man named Sang-Woo, whom she has known for quite a long time since she was a child. However, he is much younger than her.

One day, Mal-Hee encounters a young woman named Sa-Hee, who used to be a nudist portrait painter, tries to teach Mal-Hee all about men and what they really want from women.

Even though Sa-Her tries her best to share all of her insight and knowledge with men with her personal experiences, Mal-Hee begins to question herself on whether she might be worthy of finally finding a man to go out with or not.

Will Mal-Hee ever find true love once and for all or is she destined to be single for the rest of her life?
