Valley of Angels is a 2008 independent drama film directed by Jon Rosten and starring George Katt, Danny Trejo, and Caroline Macey. The movie revolves around the life of Alex Torres, a former street racer who has turned his life around and become a mentor to young Latinos in the city. The movie opens with Alex Torres (Katt) running away from a street racing scene gone wrong. He decides to leave his old life behind and start anew by moving to the San Fernando Valley. With the help of his mentor, the wise and compassionate Father Guzman (Trejo), Alex becomes a mentor to troubled Latino teens in the area.

Alex’s mission is simple: he wants to help the Latino youths in his community stay on the right track and avoid the dangers of gang violence and drug addiction. One of his first mentees is Gabriel (Ricardo Mamood-Vega), a teenage boy who is struggling to find his place in the world.

Gabriel’s father is a gang member, and he tries to pull Gabriel into the illegal activities of his gang. But with Alex’s guidance, Gabriel finds a new passion in life - building a hot rod car. Along the way, Gabriel meets Claire (Macey), a girl who shares his love for cars and becomes his first love interest.

As Alex continues to mentor these young Latinos, he faces his own personal demons. He is haunted by the memory of his past mistakes, including the death of his brother in a racing accident. He struggles to move on and forgive himself for what happened.

The movie is also filled with themes of faith and redemption. Father Guzman is a constant source of inspiration, guiding Alex and his mentees towards a better future. The movie also delves into the struggles of being a Latino in America, and how the pressures of society and family can lead young people into a life of crime and violence.

Valley of Angels is a heartfelt and inspiring movie that tackles important themes of redemption and mentorship. It is a poignant reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a better tomorrow. The performances by the cast are strong, with Katt delivering a noteworthy performance as the conflicted and tormented Alex Torres. Overall, Valley of Angels is a powerful and touching indie drama that is sure to leave a lasting impression on its viewers. It is a movie about the power of redemption, the importance of mentorship, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
