This film is about the story of a young man named Seiichi, who is an employee at Nichiei Studios in Kyoto, Japan. He usually gets typecast as playing characters who get sliced by a sword. However, he later discovers that his workload is slowly decreasing. One day, he meets a girl named Satsuki, who is a huge fan of his work and wants to become an actress. After following Seiichi's advice, she becomes a popular actress in Tokyo. She then lands a the lead female role in a popular historical movie, while she hopes to one day work with Seiichi who is now a retired actor.
