Underworld Awakening is a 2012 action-packed movie that follows the story of Selene (Kate Beckinsale), a vampire who has been in a state of suspended animation for 12 years. The world she awakens to is vastly different from the one she left behind. Humans have become aware of the existence of vampires and werewolves and have waged an all-out war against them. Selene finds herself hunted by both humans and the Lycans (werewolves) she has sworn to destroy.

Selene's journey takes her through a dark and desolate world, where she is pursued by both human and Lycan forces. She is aided by Detective Sebastian (Michael Ealy), a human who sympathizes with the plight of the vampires and who helps Selene and Eve escape the clutches of their enemies.

As Selene and Eve make their way through the city, they encounter various other vampires and Lycans, some of whom are allies, and some of whom are enemies. They discover that the humans have been experimenting on vampires and Lycans in an attempt to create a hybrid species that is immune to sunlight, silver, and other traditional weaknesses.

The action sequences in the movie are intense and well-choreographed, with Selene unleashing her skills as a skilled fighter and markswoman to take on her enemies. There are plenty of gunfights, explosions, and close-quarters combat scenes that keep the viewer on the edge of their seat.

The movie also explores the emotional side of Selene and Eve's relationship, as they come to terms with their new situation and their shared history. Selene struggles with the realization that she has missed out on 12 years of her daughter's life and must now protect her daughter from the dangers of the world they now inhabit.
