She is smart, strong-willed and unafraid to take on the challenges that come her way. Melanie does a great job of portraying the emotional turmoil Avery goes through as she tries to protect her friends while also struggling with her own fears.

Trautmann also gives a convincing performance as Sam, the young boy stuck in the treehouse. Despite his injury, he remains calm and collected, thinking logically through the situation and trying to find a way out. His vulnerability and determination to survive make him a sympathetic and likable character.

James is also noteworthy in his role as the mysterious figure who seems to be stalking the group. He is an imposing figure with a menacing presence, and his performance is both chilling and believable.

The film is well-paced and keeps the tension high throughout. The setting of the dark, densely wooded forest adds to the suspense and creates a claustrophobic atmosphere. The use of lighting and sound also helps to build a sense of foreboding, effectively creating an eerie and unsettling mood.
