Tom and Jerry & The Wizard of Oz is an animated film released in 2011. Directed by Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone, the movie stars Grey Griffin as Dorothy, Nikki Yanofsky as Tuffy, Joe Alaskey as Droopy, and Michael Gough as The Wizard. The movie starts with Dorothy and Toto getting caught in a tornado that transports them to a magical land called Oz. There, she meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, who are on a mission to see the Wizard of Oz and ask for his help to get what they desire. Dorothy decides to join them on their journey, hoping that the Wizard can help her get back home to Kansas.
Meanwhile, the Wicked Witch of the West is trying to stop Dorothy and her friends from reaching the Wizard. To aid her in her quest, the Witch enlists the help of Tom and Jerry, whom she has manipulated with false promises of rewards for their services.
As they journey through the mystical land of Oz, Tom and Jerry unintentionally help Dorothy and her friends with their mishaps and mistakes. They also win over Tuffy's affection, who becomes their ally in order to stop the Witch's evil plans.
The group encounters various obstacles on their way to the Emerald City, including dark forests, haunted graveyards, and the Witch's castle, where the Witch plans to use a magical broomstick to take control of Oz.
With the help of Glinda the Good Witch, they are able to reach the Wizard and present their requests. However, the Wizard tells them he cannot grant their wishes without the Witch's broomstick, which she has just stolen from them. Tom and Jerry team up with Tuffy to retrieve the broomstick and save Oz from the Witch's tyrannical rule.
The film features musical numbers, such as "Almost Home" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," sung by Nikki Yanofsky. It also includes cameo appearances by Droopy, who helps Dorothy and her friends along their journey, and the Munchkins, who perform a lively musical number to welcome them to Oz.
The animation style is reminiscent of the classic Tom and Jerry cartoons, with the addition of vibrant colors and dynamic visuals for the magical land of Oz. The humor and slapstick antics typical of the characters are well incorporated into the movie, adding to its entertainment value.
