The last remaining humans live in a domed city called New Paris, which is powered by a mysterious energy source known as the Xybernetic Matrix. However, the Matrix is beginning to fail and the city may soon be plunged into darkness forever. Desperate to save their people, a team of scientists devise a plan to travel back in time to the year 2000 to prevent the Matrix from ever being created.
