Tiger Lily Road is a 2013 independent drama film that follows the life of a young man named Michael, played by Tom Pelphrey. The film takes place in the rural town of Fairview, where Michael returns after serving a ten-year prison sentence for a crime he did not commit. Upon his return to Fairview, Michael desperately tries to reconnect with his grandmother, played by Emmy Award-winning actress Ilene Kristen, who raised him before he was incarcerated. Michael's grandmother welcomes him back with open arms but the rest of the town is not as accepting. The small town is plagued by rumors and misinformation about Michael’s past and the crime he supposedly committed.

Michael’s attempts at reestablishing his life is also further complicated when he is met with hostility from a local group of men, including William Hill's character Bobby Cusack, who have their own intentions for the town, leaving Michael with few options.

As Michael continues to navigate his return, he begins to form unexpected connections with some of the town's other outcasts, including Michael Medeiros’ character, a drifter who becomes a friend to Michael.

The film’s cinematography beautifully captures the town’s natural beauty and simple way of life, contrasting the town’s peacefulness with the underlying tensions that run through it.

The acting performances in Tiger Lily Road are incredibly nuanced and emotionally charged, especially Tom Pelphrey's portrayal of Michael. Throughout the movie, we see Michael go through a range of emotions, from anger and frustration to sadness and despair as he tries to pick up the pieces of his life.

William Hill's performance as Bobby Cusack is equally impressive. Hill's portrayal of Cusack manages to be both chilling and captivating with his cold and calculating demeanor.

Despite its slow pacing, the film’s themes of redemption, forgiveness, and community make it a truly compelling watch. The story is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming, creating a truly authentic depiction of life in rural America.

Overall, Tiger Lily Road is a powerful and thought-provoking movie that highlights the importance of community and the potential for redemption in even the darkest of situations.
