Thunderbolt is a 1995 Hong Kong action film that stars Jackie Chan as Chan Foh To, a mechanic and race car driver who becomes embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with a criminal gang. Anita Yuen plays Amy, a fellow race car driver and love interest of Chan's character, while Michael Wong plays Inspector Lee, the police detective tasked with bringing down the gang.

The film opens with Chan participating in an illegal street race, which he wins despite the interference of the gang leader, Cougar (played by Thorsten Nickel). After the race, Chan goes to his garage to work on his beloved yellow racing car, Thunderbolt, which he built himself. He is interrupted by a group of thugs who try to steal his car, but he fights them off and escapes with Thunderbolt. Chan learns that the thugs were sent by Cougar, who is angry that Chan defeated his driver in the street race.

Meanwhile, Amy is struggling to fund her racing career and is being pressured by her sponsors to win more races. Chan offers to help her out by teaching her some advanced driving techniques, and the two begin a tentative romance. However, their happiness is short-lived as Cougar and his gang continue to target Chan, eventually kidnapping Amy to use as leverage.

Inspector Lee is determined to bring Cougar and his gang to justice, but he is hindered by bureaucracy and corruption within the police force. He must navigate a web of double-crosses and alliances to uncover the gang's operations and save Amy.

The action in Thunderbolt is fast-paced and thrilling, with Chan performing many of his own stunts. There are numerous car chases and races, as well as hand-to-hand combat scenes. The film also features some impressive cinematography, particularly during the race sequences.

In addition to the action scenes, Thunderbolt also explores themes of family and loyalty. Chan's character is driven by his love for Thunderbolt and his connection to his deceased father, who was also a mechanic and race car driver. Amy and Chan's relationship is complicated by their shared passion for racing and the danger it entails. Inspector Lee struggles to balance his duty to the law with his personal relationships and vows to protect his loved ones.

Overall, Thunderbolt is a thrilling action movie that showcases Jackie Chan's talents and features a compelling plot and strong performances from the rest of the cast. It is a must-see for fans of Hong Kong cinema and action films in general.
