The Video Dead is a horror movie that was released in 1987. Directed by Robert Scott, the movie stars Michael St. Michaels, Thaddeus Golas, Douglass Bell, and Al Millan. The movie begins with a mysterious delivery of a television set to a peaceful suburban neighborhood. The new owners of the house, a young couple, are surprised to see a television set delivered to their doorstep without any explanation. They decide to keep the television set and try to set it up. However, when they turn it on, they realize that it's not a normal television set.

The television set is a portal to another world where the dead come back to life. The couple is horrified to see zombies coming out of the TV set and attacking them. They try to turn off the TV set, but it doesn't work. The only way to get rid of the zombies is to destroy the TV set.

The couple tries to destroy the TV set, but it's not that easy. The TV set has supernatural powers, and it's not easy to get rid of it. Meanwhile, the zombies keep coming out of the TV set and attacking anyone who comes close to it. The situation becomes worse when the couple's neighbors become aware of what's happening, and even they get attacked by the zombies.

In the midst of all this chaos, a writer named Jeff arrives in the neighborhood. Jeff is writing a book on the supernatural, and he's intrigued by the strange events happening in the neighborhood. He tries to investigate the matter and soon discovers the truth about the TV set. He realizes that the TV set is a cursed object and the only way to get rid of it is to find its original owner.

With the help of the couple and their neighbors, Jeff embarks on a dangerous mission to find the original owner of the TV set. They soon discover that the owner is dead, and the TV set was used to perform a ritual that brought the dead back to life. In order to destroy the TV set, they need to perform a similar ritual, but this time, they have to do it correctly, or else they might end up unleashing an even greater evil.

The movie then takes a terrifying turn as the group tries to perform the ritual. They are attacked by zombies, and it seems like they might not make it out alive. However, with courage and determination, they manage to destroy the TV set, and the zombies disappear.

The movie ends with the group victorious, but it's clear that they have been deeply traumatized by their experience. The couple decides to move away, and Jeff continues his work on the supernatural.

The special effects, although not as advanced as modern movies, are still impressive and add to the overall atmosphere of the movie.
