The Umbilical Brothers: The Rehearsal is one of several shows devised by comedy duo Shane Dundas and David Collins, the self proclaimed Umbilical Brothers. An unorthodox example of comic theater, it unfolds just as it is advertised. Odd and hectic ideas are thrown at the audience, which is treated as part of a rehearsal for a studio pitch. The two performers leap and dance across an empty stage, acting out the unfinished premises to their sketches with only lights and sound to support them. Shane and Collins treat audience members as active participants in the show, interacting with them throughout.
