The Sublet is a 2015 horror movie that revolves around Joanna, a young mother who has recently moved with her family to a new apartment in New York City. The movie depicts the struggles that Joanna faces as she tries to adjust to her new environment while taking care of her young child. The story begins with Joanna and her husband, Jeff, moving into a new apartment with their infant son. Joanna is struggling with post-partum depression and is finding it difficult to cope with the stresses of motherhood. Jeff is a busy chef who is often away at work, leaving Joanna alone with their son for hours on end.

As Joanna spends more time in the apartment, she begins to notice strange things happening around her. She hears strange noises late at night and feels a presence in the apartment that she can't explain. Despite her fears, she tries to convince herself that it's just her imagination and that there's nothing to worry about.

Things take a turn for the worse when Joanna starts to uncover disturbing secrets about the apartment's previous tenant, a woman named Margaret. She finds a collection of old baby clothes hidden in a closet and discovers that Margaret had a young child of her own who died tragically in the apartment.

As the days go by, Joanna's mental state deteriorates further as she becomes increasingly convinced that something sinister is happening in the apartment. She starts to experience strange visions and hallucinations, and her behavior becomes more erratic and unpredictable.

The movie's tension builds steadily as Joanna's fears escalate and she becomes more isolated and paranoid. The film's dark, atmospheric visuals and eerie soundtrack perfectly capture the atmosphere of a haunted apartment, and the performances by the cast are top notch.

Tianna Nori delivers a powerful performance as Joanna, and her portrayal of a woman struggling with mental illness is both nuanced and sympathetic. Mark Matechuk is also excellent as Jeff, a man who is struggling to balance his career with his responsibilities as a husband and father.

But perhaps the film's most impressive performance comes from Krista Madison, who plays Margaret in a series of flashbacks. Madison's portrayal of a woman struggling with grief and mental illness is hauntingly real, and her scenes provide the film with some of its most emotionally powerful moments.

The Sublet is a unique and engaging horror movie that explores themes of motherhood, mental illness, and the supernatural. It's a tense, atmospheric film that draws the viewer in with a compelling story and strong performances. Whether you're a fan of horror films or not, The Sublet is definitely worth checking out.

The Sublet is a 2016 mystery with a runtime of 1 hour and 21 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.8.
