This is a documentary movie about a Jewish leader of a German concentration camp in World War II. When the war started, he ran an orphanage for Jewish children. The ghetto where he was imprisoned, with his fellow Polish Jews, was where he ascended to community leadership. While he ran the ghetto, he fostered industry among his fellow countrymen. He tried to placate the Germans by making the products of the Jewish people necessary to them. He also asked them to give up their children. These small waifs were sent to be exterminated by the Germans.
