The Spoilers is a 1955 American western film directed by Jesse Hibbs and starring Anne Baxter, Jeff Chandler, and Rory Calhoun. The movie is a remake of the 1942 film of the same name, which was based on the novel of the same name by Rex Beach. The story takes place in the late 1800s in the territory of Alaska, which was then still a vast wilderness that had recently been purchased from Russia.

The movie opens with the arrival of Alex McNamara, a mining engineer who has come to Alaska to help develop the gold fields. McNamara soon finds himself embroiled in a conflict with Roy Glennister, a successful miner who has a claim on the richest vein of gold in the territory. The two men clash over the ownership of the mine, and things become even more complicated when a beautiful saloon owner named Cherry Malotte comes between them.

The plot thickens when it is revealed that the governor of the territory, played by Ray Danton, is in cahoots with a corrupt judge who is trying to cheat Glennister out of his claim. McNamara and Malotte team up with Glennister to fight against the governor and the judge, but the odds are stacked against them. They find themselves up against a ruthless gang of outlaws, led by a man named Bronco, who will stop at nothing to get their hands on the gold.

The Spoilers is a classic western adventure, complete with gunfights, horse chases, and good old fashioned heroics. The leads, especially Anne Baxter as the feisty and sassy Cherry Malotte, bring a great deal of energy and charisma to their roles. Jeff Chandler is equally impressive as the stalwart Roy Glennister, a man who is not afraid to fight for what he believes in. The chemistry between these two characters is palpable, and their banter provides some of the movie's best moments.

Rory Calhoun, as the dastardly Bronco, is a standout villain, stealing every scene he's in with his steely-eyed gaze and menacing mannerisms. The supporting cast is also top-notch, including Barbara Britton as Glennister's love interest, and John McIntire as the judge who is on the take.

One of the movie's strongest elements is its stunning cinematography, which captures the breathtaking beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. The filmmakers made great use of the location, filming in actual gold mining towns that were used during the Klondike Gold Rush. The result is a movie that feels genuinely authentic, with a sense of place that adds a great deal of atmosphere and depth to the story.

Overall, The Spoilers is a highly entertaining western that delivers on all fronts. Its action-packed plot, memorable characters, and breathtaking scenery make it a must-see for fans of the genre. The fact that it is a remake of a classic film, and based on a beloved novel, only adds to its appeal. Whether you're a die-hard western fan or just someone looking for a great adventure movie, The Spoilers is well worth checking out.
