Set in the 1920s after the Russian Civil War, the militia leader of a small town must deal with a band of rebels who refuse to cease their violent attacks even thought a peace treaty has been signed in the capital. With his own soldiers deserting to join the rebel cause, he may have no choice but to offer himself up to the rebel leader in exchange for the safety of his people.
