In the 2002 film The Santa Clause 2, Tim Allen reprises his role as Scott Calvin, who has assumed the mantle of Santa Claus after accidentally causing the previous Santa's demise. This time around, Scott finds himself facing an unexpected challenge: he must find a Mrs. Claus to help him maintain balance in the North Pole and fulfill the responsibilities of his role.
Scott discovers that as Santa, he must follow the "Missus Clause," which states that he must have a Mrs. Claus in order to continue as Santa. Failure to fulfill this obligation will result in him losing his position as Santa, along with his magical abilities. With the help of his trusted advisors Bernard the head elf (David Krumholtz) and Curtis (Spencer Breslin), the Keeper of the Handbook of Christmas Lore, Scott sets off to find a companion.
Meanwhile, in the real world, Scott's teenage son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) has landed on the "naughty" list due to some minor misbehavior. Fearful that his dad won't be home for Christmas, Charlie comes up with a plan to get himself off the list and reunite his family by sneaking into the North Pole.
Scott arrives back in the outside world to begin his search, but worries he'll never find the right woman to become Mrs. Claus before Christmas Eve rolls around. Frustrated with the women he has seen, he resorts to using a magical snow globe to spy on potential candidates. He finally locates a substitute teacher named Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell), but things aren't so easy when it comes to winning her heart.
As Scott tries to woo Carol, he also has to navigate the challenges of running the North Pole. The mischievous Jack Frost (Martin Short) is jealous of Santa's fame and fortune and plans to take over Santa's role himself. He causes chaos in the North Pole by using his powers to create a mechanical Santa that spreads chaos and mayhem.
