The 1976 adventure film, The Quest, starring Kurt Russell, Tim Matheson, and Brian Keith, follows the journey of Christopher Dubois (Russell), a street-smart pickpocket who becomes embroiled in a game of survival set in the 1920s. When Dubois is caught stealing from a fairground, he is sentenced to work on a boat headed to Asia. He eventually finds himself on an island off the coast of Siam, where a terrible fate awaits him.

As it turns out, the island is home to a brutal underground fighting tournament called "The Great Challenge," where competitors from all over the world fight to the death for a valuable golden dragon. Despite being an outsider, Dubois manages to charm the locals and earns a spot in the tournament. With his pickpocketing skills, street smarts, and newfound martial art abilities, Dubois becomes a strong competitor in The Great Challenge.

With the help of his newfound friend, the affable cowboy Dobbs (Matheson), and a wise old master (Keith), Dubois prepares to face some of the toughest opponents of his life, including the ruthless Mongolian fighter Khan (played by the late, great martial arts legend, Sho Kosugi).

Along the way, Dubois must navigate the treacherous waters of the tournament, avoiding its many traps and tricks, and fend off the advances of the tournament's ruthless organizer, Lord Dobbs (Louis Jourdan). Together with his friends, Dubois must come up with a plan to beat the odds and win the tournament, or risk losing his life.

The Quest is a thrilling adventure film that brings together elements of martial arts, action, and drama. The film is notable for its impressive fight sequences, which feature a blend of different martial arts styles, including Kung Fu, Karate, and Muay Thai. The film's action scenes are complemented by a strong cast of characters, each with their own unique arcs and motivations.
