The pornographer is a french film that falls into the genre of drama. This film was written and directed by Bertrand Bonello. It was produced by Carole Scotta, Bruno Jobin, Simon Arnal, Caroline Benjo, Stephane Choquette, and Barbara Letellier. Also, this film won the FIPRESCI prize. From drugs, violence, and sexual references this film has everything a movie needs to keep the audience screaming for more.

This film is based mainly on a young man named Paul Ryan, a 25 year old man with the maturity of a teenager. Paul has trouble with women, he does not know how to approach them, and does not know what to do in the way of asking a women out on a date. Being frustrated, Paul begins to turn to pornography and hiring prostitutes to fill his sexually needs.

After a while Paul decides that he wants to start making his own pornography, and begins making his own porn films. After making several of his own porno films, Paul wants to make it big so he takes his videos to a big film producer by the name of Spano. Spano tells him of all the glory of the industry and promises a life of dreams come true. But, to achieve the status of making pictures for this , Spano tells Paul that before this can happen he must convince and corrupt a young women into the sex industry, that has never done it before. Paul knows the perfect girl to lure in.

Paul decides to talk Kate, a small town, sweet, loving women from Tennessee into coming into the industry. Paul knows that she will be his ticket into the industry, so he pulls out all the lines possible to convince her that only risk takers make it in this world. Kate being a young actress who is broke, living in LA trying to accomplish her acting dream, agrees to join in after Paul makes it seem so appealing. Unfortunately, Paul will discover just how much destruction and damage this industry can cause to him and to Kate as well.

This film takes you on a journey with Paul as he is entering into a world he thought would make his life complete and make his life happy, to the destruction, heart break, and fight to save himself and Kate from the harm and chaos that seems to be quickly surrounding them. This film has seat gripping acting that will keep you glued to your screens wanting more.
