Cecil D. Demille originally made The Plainsman in 1936. The 1966 version is a remake of the Demille classic. The movie is a Western that features cowboy heroes such as Wild Bill Hickok, Buffalo Bill and Calamity Jane. Don Murray, Guy Stockwell and Abby Dalton star in the movie. The plot concerns an uprising by the Cheyennes. Wild Bill is taken prisoner by Crazy Knife. He learns about Cheyenne plans to go on the warpath. He escapes and is picked up by Calamity Jane. They attempt to warn Lt. Stiles about the Cheyenne plans to attack the area with repeater rifles. Their warnings are met with skepticism.
