The Perfect Roommate is a suspenseful thriller movie from 2011 directed by Curtis Crawford. The story revolves around the life of a young lady named Nicole (Boti Bliss) who has just started a new chapter in her life by enrolling in a college far away from home. As she moves in to her new apartment, she begins to experience severe emotional trauma from her past experiences. Her only solace is found in a good-looking and friendly roommate, David (William R. Moses), who seems to be the perfect and supportive pal for her.

Nicole's roommate, David, is a perfect example of a gentleman who is understanding, caring, and very supportive. He does whatever he can to console and motivate Nicole, who is struggling with coming to terms with her past. She slowly starts to trust him and grows very close to him, considering him almost like a brother figure. David, on the other hand, considers Nicole more than just a friend and his love for her knows no bounds.

Things start to go awry when David’s true character begins to surface. As Nicole becomes more and more disturbed by David's constant surveillance of her and his possessive nature, she begins to feel like she needs to escape the situation. The ever-oblivious Nicole turns to a new friend, with whom she entrusts the job of finding her a new living arrangement. But things quickly take a dark turn as David becomes increasingly obsessive and devolves into a position of extreme jealousy and wrath. The devastating climax to this disturbing descent into madness can only end in one way.

The script is a great effort from Christine Conradt, whose presentation of the story keeps the viewers engrossed throughout the whole movie. The Perfect Roommate explores some of the darkest and most dangerous aspects of psychopathic relationships. Boti Bliss astounding performance, as the haunted and tormented Nicole, makes the audience feel her deep struggles as she battles with searing pain from her past. William R. Moses, as David, presents a much darker character than we are led to believe at the start of the film. His character is terrifying, ruthless and threatening, which makes the suspense of the movie all the more gripping.

The movie also explores the power of trust and betrayal, something that becomes increasingly evident as the movie progresses. The Perfect Roommate brings to light the dangers of trusting people too easily, especially in a world where psychopaths and sexual predators can lurk at every corner.

The production value of the movie is excellent, with great attention paid to details, direction, and editing. The soundtrack is original and beautiful, offering the right tone and mood to help capture the emotional trauma inflicted on Nicole. The cinematography is top-notch, with impressive camera angles employed to deliver a powerful emotional and psychological impact on the audience. The film is shot tightly, which helps in making it all the more suspenseful.

In summary, The Perfect Roommate is an impressive psychological thriller that will keep viewers at the edge of their seats throughout the whole movie. The story is very sincere in its representation of the extreme mental trauma experienced by those who have suffered sexual assault at the hands of those they once trusted. The character development is exceptional, with both actors delivering on their roles, capturing the essence of their characters convincingly. The movie is a great example of a brilliantly executed suspenseful thriller, offering real emotions, suspense, and psychological trauma that keep the audience entertained till the very end.
