In the movie The One, Jet Li plays two parallel versions of himself, Gabe Law and Yulaw, in a multiverse where alternate realities exist. Gabe Law is a police officer in the universe we know, whereas Yulaw is a rogue agent who has been traversing through parallel universes killing off his duplicates in order to strengthen his own power. As Yulaw kills his duplicates, he gains their strength and energy, enabling him to become stronger and more invincible.

The movie starts off with Yulaw killing off his latest duplicate in a parallel universe. However, he soon realizes that his ultimate goal is to kill off all of his duplicates so that he can become the only version of himself in all of the parallel universes, thus becoming a godlike figure with the power to control everything. Meanwhile, Gabe Law is investigating these murders and starts to notice the pattern of killings that all seem to be linked to Yulaw.

During a fight scene, Gabe Law discovers that he is an alternate version of Yulaw and the two engage in an epic battle as they try to take each other out. As the two versions of himself fight, Yulaw realizes that if he kills Gabe Law, he can become the only version of himself, since they are both the same person but from different universes. The two fight fiercely as they jump from one parallel universe to another, causing destruction along the way. The fight scenes are choreographed brilliantly with amazing visual effects.

Carla Gugino plays T.K. Law, Gabe's wife, who provides insight and support throughout the movie. T.K. Law is also a scientist who specializes in alternate realities, which becomes key in the development of the plot later on. Delroy Lindo plays Roedecker, Gabe Law's boss, who tries to stop Yulaw and his rampaging.

The concept of the multiverse and alternate realities is explored throughout the movie, with the notion that every decision made by each individual creates a new reality. There are countless parallel universes, each with its own version of Gabe Law and Yulaw. Yulaw travels between these universes by use of a device which allows him to jump from one reality to another, killing off mirror images of himself to increase his power.

The movie is fast-paced with a lot of action, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats. The plot is complex, but not in a way that makes it difficult to follow. The characters are well-developed, with different motivations and backgrounds. Jet Li gives a fantastic performance, playing two versions of himself with unique personalities and fighting styles. The visual effects are brilliant, bringing to life the different parallel universes with great detail.

Overall, The One is an exciting sci-fi action movie that explores the concept of parallel universes and alternate realities while keeping audiences entertained with epic fight scenes and intense visuals. It is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys sci-fi and action movies.
