Historically significant to the legacy of the city's first NBA team is the night that Pete Maravich scored 68 points, the most points ever scored by a guard in the National Basketball Association. Maravich, who was known as Pistol Pete for his deadly shooting accuracy, and the Jazz took on Hall of Famer Walt Frazier and the New York Knicks at the New Orleans Superdome on February 25, 1977.
