Two lovers, Alex and Michele, are drawn together because their personal problems have pushed them away from their families. They live with other homeless people on the famed Pont Neuf in Paris. Michele has a medical condition that is causing her to lose her vision and must depend on Alex for everything. When a treatment becomes available, Michele's family wants to find her, but Alex does everything he can to prevent that. The lovers face tragedy and love together without help from the cold outsiders around them.
