Jon is a gay freelance film critic. He learns that he is HIV positive and soon meets Luke. Jon finds out that Luke has AIDS and that he is on the run from the law. The two soon find themselves on a road trip to San Francisco. The two men feel that they have nothing to lose and begin a crime-spree while they are on the road to California. Jon finds himself becoming disillusioned with Luke and his recklessness and confronts him about it somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
The film follows the men as they get to know each other and eventually help one another out. This film is not for young audiences as it has many graphic sex scenes. The film stars Mike Dytri as Luke and Craig Gilmore as Jon. Director Gregg Araki directed the movie. He creates visually engaging scenes with vivid color and lighting. Overall, this is a decent film.
The Living End is a 1992 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 32 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.8.
