The Library Suicides is a Welsh-language thriller movie from 2016. Directed by Euros Lyn, the story follows a set of twins named Ana and Nan who both work at the National Library of Wales. The twins are played by Catrin Stewart, famously known for her role in Doctor Who, while her sister is played by her real-life twin Cai. The movie is based on Fflur Dafydd's best-selling novel Y Llyfrgell.

Ana and Nan are opposites in character - Ana being meticulous and organized while Nan more laidback and dreamy. But the two sisters have one thing in common – an intense hatred towards their father. Their father, a famous writer who abandoned them at a young age, casts a long shadow over their lives. When their father returns to give a lecture at the library, the twins hatch a plan to kill him.

The plan is to lock their father, Dewi (Jenny's father from Doctor Who) in the basement and kill him with carbon monoxide poisoning in the name of justice. As the night progresses, the plan seems to not run smoothly. The twins discover their father has embroiled them in a much more sinister conspiracy. Ana and Nan find themselves trapped in the library with their father's manuscripts, which hold deadly secrets that people will kill to get. They have to decipher the clues in the manuscripts to save themselves and their father's legacy.

The movie keeps the initial premise of the novel, while still exploring the gray areas between love and hate that exist between family members. The complex relationships between the twins and their father reveal the unspoken anger, bitterness, and unresolved issues that come with the abandonment of a parent.

The Library Suicides is set against the backdrop of the beautiful National Library of Wales, a stunning building that the director uses to great effect to add atmosphere to the film. The scenes of the empty library with flickering lights add to the tension, making the viewer feel a sense of claustrophobia that heightens the urgency of the twins' situation.

The cast of the movie is excellent, with Catrin Stewart shining in her dual role as both Ana and Nan. She perfectly portrays the intensity of the sisters' emotions towards their father, giving a commanding performance that keeps the audience glued to the screen. Her chemistry with Dyfan Dwyfor, who plays Callum, her father's protégé and former lover, adds an additional level of intrigue to the story. The two actors share a palpable intensity that enhances the story's momentum, making the viewer wonder what their relationship is and how they fit into the twins' plan.

Overall, The Library Suicides is a well-crafted thriller that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. With its engaging script and powerhouse performances from the cast, this movie is worth watching for anyone who loves a good mystery. Perfect for filmgoers who enjoy dark, atmospheric storytelling with an unexpected twist, the Library Suicides is sure to delight and thrill.
