Their travels bring them in touch with Jóhann, a single father, living with his son, Jóhas. Katla uses her family magic to charm Jóhann into letting she and her sister stay with them. Although Jóhas sees through the deception, his father is powerless to overcome Katla's sorcery. Jóhas, along with the assistance of a magical raven, struggles to find ways to break the spell over his father.
