Ryan Reynolds stars as Michael Bryce, a former high-level protection agent who has fallen on hard times. Samuel L. Jackson plays Darius Kincaid, a notorious hitman who Bryce once tried to protect but failed. When Kincaid is set to testify against a ruthless dictator, the only way to get him to court safely is to enlist the reluctant help of Bryce.

Despite their past differences, Bryce must put aside his personal grudges and get Kincaid safely from England to The Hague, Netherlands where his testimony is needed. The journey is far from straightforward as they are relentlessly pursued by the dictator's henchmen, including one played by Gary Oldman, determined to stop Kincaid from testifying. As they make their way through Europe, Bryce and Kincaid engage in a series of riotously funny and action-packed exchanges that see them slowly but surely come to understand and respect each other.

The duo soon find themselves embroiled in all sorts of situations, including a thrilling chase through Amsterdam's canals and an encounter on a bus through the streets of Amsterdam. As they travel towards their destination, Bryce must use all of his skills to avoid assassination attempts and outwit his pursuers. Kincaid, on the other hand, finds himself revealing more and more about his mysterious past, including how he first met his wife, Sonia (Salma Hayek), a fellow hitwoman serving time in prison.

What follows is a hilarious, often chaotic but ultimately adventurous race against time as Bryce and Kincaid fight their way through streets, tunnels and the waterways of Europe to try and get Kincaid to the trial in time to testify against the tyrant known as Vladislav Dukhovich. With a hit list longer than Santa's naughty list, Dukhovich will stop at nothing to silence Kincaid, and protect himself from prosecution.
