The Hellbenders is a crime action film that was released in 1967. Following the end of the American Civil War, a group of confederate soldiers do not want to give up the fight. They are led by a man who knows he can raise another army if has access to a large amount of stolen money. The only problem is that the money is hidden in the coffin of his brother, and it has been sent to his family out west. The confederates dress as civilians, and ride out looking for the coffin. Along the way they have to battle Indians, the American Army, and other bandits.
