The Forger is a dramatic crime thriller that was released in 2014. Starring John Travolta, Christopher Plummer, and Tye Sheridan, the film follows a skilled art forger named Raymond Cutter (Travolta) who is released from prison early in order to spend time with his dying son, Will (Sheridan). But to do so, he must commit one last heist, forging a famous painting by Claude Monet.

As the film begins, Raymond is seen serving time in prison for a series of art forgeries. He is given the opportunity to leave prison early and spend time with his son, who is suffering from an aggressive form of leukemia. Raymond is released into the custody of his father-in-law, Joseph (Plummer), who has connections to the local criminal underworld.

Joseph offers Raymond a chance to work on a Monet forgery, which will be used as part of a larger plan. Raymond reluctantly agrees, knowing that if he is caught he will be sent back to prison. As he begins to work on the forgery, he becomes increasingly obsessed with the project, and begins to see it as an opportunity to redeem himself as a father.

Throughout the film, Raymond struggles with his own demons, including his history of addiction and his inability to be a good father. He also deals with the dangerous people involved in the forgery scheme, as well as the FBI agents who are investigating him.

As the deadline for the forgery approaches, Raymond becomes increasingly desperate to finish the painting and spend time with his son. But when the forgery is discovered by the FBI, Raymond must choose between his need to be with his son and his own freedom.

The Forger is a compelling and emotional film that showcases the talents of its cast. Travolta is particularly strong as Raymond, portraying a man who is both flawed and sympathetic. Plummer is similarly impressive as Joseph, a man who is willing to bend the law to help his family.

Director Philip Martin skillfully balances the film's dramatic moments with intense heist sequences and a tense police investigation. The film's final act is particularly thrilling, with a surprising twist that will keep viewers guessing until the very end.

Overall, The Forger is a must-see for fans of crime dramas and art heist movies. With its powerful performances and engaging storyline, the film is sure to leave a lasting impression.
