In the movie The Flock, Richard Gere portrays a law enforcement officer named Errol Babbage, who is nearing the end of his career with the Department of Public Safety. After many years on the job, Babbage has a cynical view of the world and the people he is supposed to protect. When a case comes across his desk involving a missing girl, Babbage is tasked with finding her. The girl, named Allison (played by Kristen Stewart), is a troubled teenager who has run away from home multiple times. Babbage enlists the help of a new recruit, a fresh-faced and idealistic officer named Allison Lowry (Claire Danes), to assist him in the search.
As Babbage and Lowry delve deeper into the case, they uncover a dark and twisted world of sexual predators and troubled youth. KaDee Strickland plays Viola, a young woman who has been victimized by these predators and provides a key clue in the investigation.
As they get closer to finding Allison, Babbage's methods become increasingly desperate and questionable, and he must confront his own demons in order to bring the case to a close.
Throughout the movie, there is a palpable tension between Babbage and Lowry, as their differing perspectives on the job and their own personal motivations begin to clash. However, they both remain committed to finding Allison and bringing her home safely.
The Flock is a gritty and dark crime thriller that explores the harrowing world of sex crimes and child abduction. Richard Gere delivers a powerful performance as a jaded and world-weary law enforcement officer, while Claire Danes provides a compelling foil as the idealistic and determined newcomer. Overall, the movie is a gripping and suspenseful ride that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end.
