Watch The Fighter

The Fighter is a 2010 movie that tells the story of a professional welterweight boxer named Micky Ward and his older brother called Dicky. Dicky acts as Micky's trainer, while his mother takes on the role of manager. Micky reaches a plateau in his boxing career as other fighters move up the ranks above him. At the same time, Dicky is battling a belittling addiction to crack. In a critical fight, Micky has several problems which make him evaluate his career and consider a new path. He becomes closer with his girlfriend and explores the world outside of boxing. However, his mother has arranged a new bout.

The Fighter follows Micky through the early years of his career before he becomes a full-time professional. At times both joyous and heartbreaking, it is a biographical look at the brutal world of boxing, the men who fight to rise in the ranks, and the strong characters that form their support team in and out of the ring.
