Watch The Fable

The Fable is a 2019 Japanese action-comedy movie that is based on a manga series. The film is directed by Kan Eguchi and stars Jun'ichi Okada as Akira Sato aka The Fable, a legendary hitman known for his stealthy and lethal nature. The movie follows Akira, who is sent by his boss to live a normal life in Osaka for a year as a part of his punishment for causing trouble in Tokyo. Akira is given a new identity and a task to do; to live a peaceful life like any ordinary person. He is not allowed to get involved in any criminal activity, but if someone attacks him, he is free to respond.

However, Akira's new life is not easy as he is unfamiliar with a normal lifestyle. Although he has no problem completing minor tasks such as buying groceries, he struggles to interact with people as a regular person. He also seems to have a hard time following the rules and often finds himself in situations that can end up in violence.

As time goes on, Akira starts to settle into his new life and even finds love with a nurse named Yoko (Fumino Kimura). He also makes friends with his quirky neighbor, played by director Kan Eguchi. However, his peaceful life is short-lived as a new boss in Osaka's yakuza organization assigns him with a new task; to kill the rival gang leader.

Akira tries to refuse the job, but his boss doesn't take no for an answer. Forced to take the job, he soon realizes that his mission has become more complicated when he is assigned a partner called No. 2, played by Mizuki Yamamoto. No. 2 is a quirky and talkative girl who, despite being assigned to assist Akira, seems to cause more trouble than help.

As the plot thickens, Akira must navigate through complex situations involving rival gangs and maintain his non-violent status. As he works towards completing his mission, he finds himself caught in a dangerous game, which may ultimately endanger the people he has come to care about.

The Fable is a hilarious movie, full of witty humor that will keep the audience engaged. The movie also has a great balance of action scenes, with impressive fight sequences that are well choreographed to showcase Akira's deadly skills.

Jun'ichi Okada gives a standout performance as Akira Sato, portraying the character with a stoic but likable demeanor. Kimura Fumino also shines in her role as Yoko, portraying the character with a genuine and caring nature towards Akira.
