The Entrance is an independent Canadian horror movie that was created in 2006. It was written by Damon Vignale, produced by Andrew Hamilton and Paul Marshal, and featured music and cinematography by Darryl Bennet and Larry Lynn. Actors featured in the film are Sarah-Jane Redmond, C. Ernst Harth, Jerry Wasserman, Colin Cunningham, Frank Cassini, Ron Suve, and Michael Eklund.
The opening scene of the movie features the character of Ryan James is running from something in a parking ramp but is able to get away due to the assistance of a janitor named Joe. From here he decides to go to a police station to get help and meets another important character in the film that goes by the name of Detective Porhowski, explaining exactly what happened to cause him to be running along on the parking ramp.
The movies then goes on to let the plot unfold as Ryan explains that he was held hostage with four other people after being abducted. Ryan eventually escapes the basement where he was held captive. The people in the basement are directed to play a series of games in order to prove who is the most worthy to live and earn their freedom. However, these games involve the injuring and killing of the other players. The games that are played are ones like bingo and musical chairs. Each time a player loses a video projector shows a deed that the person who lost has done.
The movie concludes when Ryan tells the detective that he was being chased by a demon and eventually kidnaps the detective. The conclusion of the movies features the detective being abducted and forced to fight not only Ryan, but The Devil as well. The janitor turns out to have been someone who assaulted the detective years earlier and suddenly everything clicks into place.
The Entrance is a 2006 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 21 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.3.
