Ben runs a failing circus. A new man appears on the scene (Herbert Lom). He's a strange and dark man with the gift of hypnotism. The new man hypnotizes Anne Crawford, so that she can take to the trapeze without fear and soon she does her masters bidding. The show becomes a huge success, but the circus members take a dislike to the new man. They begin to plot.
