The movie takes place in a prestigious private school in Connecticut, where Professor Lamont teaches English literature. One night, while the school is largely deserted, Lamont is staying late to give a lecture to his students. Suddenly, he hears a knocking at his door and lets in a mysterious stranger who claims he has business to attend to with the Professor. As the night progresses, things take a dark turn when Lamont receives a threatening message from an unknown source, and he realizes that his life may be in danger. He quickly realizes that he must take matters into his own hands and try to solve the mystery and uncover the identity of his attacker.
