This Russian drama is based on Kafka's unfinished novel of the same name. It tells a parable involving an individual who struggles to keep his personal identity as well as his sanity in the face of the opposition he encounters from invisible bureaucrats operating with sinister intent who can control everything that happens in the village from their position inside a castle.
