The Castilian is a biographical movie about Fernán González of Castile. He lived during the 10th century and was the first independent Count of Castile. During this time, the Moors controlled much of Spain and González wanted to drive them out. To that end, he tried to unite the other area noblemen into an army to battle the Moors. González also had to contend with villainous Don Sancho, a king who was working with the Moors.
