This film, a direct prequel to, The Bodyguard, by Panna Rittikrai and Petchtai Wongkamlao, is a martial arts film directed, once again, by Petchtai Wongkamlao (however, Panna Rittikrai did not direct). Both films are considered to be within the "wire fu" genre of martial arts action films, so called for the extremely stylized violence, most typically via the implementation of invisible wires.

The plot follows the stoic and dangerous, Khamlao, an undercover agent for the country of Wongnaileum. He is sent on a special mission by his superiors to find a group of dangerous terrorists. To accomplish this task he joins a record company that the terrorists are using as a front and gets sucked into a seedy world of guns and death in Bangkok.

The Bodyguard 2 is a 2007 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 35 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.4.
