The Bank Dick is a classic American comedy film from 1940 starring W.C. He then foils a planned bank robbery, but not before he is knocked unconscious and left with a head injury. Egbert's injury leads to him having delusions of grandeur and being convinced that he is a detective. He is constantly interfering in the investigation of the bank's robbery, much to the chagrin of the real detectives.

Egbert also finds himself in a romantic entanglement with Mrs. Hermisillo Brunch, a wealthy widow who is quite taken with him. However, her wealth-hungry family is not so impressed and tries to intervene, leading to more hilarious mishaps for Egbert.
